Transition in isospin behavior between light and heavy fragments emitted from excited nuclear systems Academic Article uri icon

abstract

  • The isospin dependence of light and heavy fragments emitted from excited nuclear systems and the change in isospin behavior between light and heavy fragments are studied in this report. The [Formula Presented] is calculated using data reported in the literature and from the results of the simulation code SMM. A transition in the isospin behavior between light and heavy fragments may support the recently reported two-phase bifurcation of excited nuclear matter into a neutron-rich gas phase and a more symmetric liquid phase. 2000 The American Physical Society.
