abstract
Multifragment emission data from the He3+Ag reaction are examined in the context of an intranuclear cascade code followed by an expanding, emitting source calculation. The role of resonances in the energy dissipation process is stressed. In addition, the importance of employing a distribution of excitation energies in such analyses is pointed out. In order to describe the data within the context of this hybrid model, excitation via resonance formation and expansion of the emitting source are required. 1994 The American Physical Society.
