abstract

• A variety of alkenylsilanes underwent transmetallation with BBr3 to afford the corresponding alkenyldibromoboranes in solution. Similarly, the transmetallation of alkynylsilanes with BCl3 afforded alkynyldichloroboranes, A number of the alkenyl- and alkynylboranes are novel and useful Diels-Alder dienophiles.
