abstract
A new instrument concept for tandem mass spectrometry Is described. The Instrument consists of a high-performance magnetic sector (Kratos MS-50) as MS-I and a reflectron tlme-of-flight as MS-I I. The Instrument concept Is compatible with pulsed and continuous Ionization sources. This paper describes the basic Instrument concept and presents preliminary data for tandem mass spectrometry experiments. This paper emphasizes the use of neutral-ion correlation measurements for obtaining metastable Ion and collision-induced dissociation spectra by using a continuous Ion source. 1992, American Chemical Society.
