Reactivity of a well-characterized titananorbornadiene (eta(6)-arene) complex with ketones and aldehydes

abstract

• The reaction between the titananorbornadiene complex [(DMSC)Ti(6-1,2,4-(Me3Si)3C6H3)] and ketones or aldehydes were proceeded by insertion of a ketone or aldehyde molecule into a Ti-C bond of 2,5-dioxatitanacyclopentane. The intermediacy of 2-oxatitanacycloheptene species and the formation of 2,5-dioxatitanacyclopentane compounds was also indicated.
