abstract
The locations and features of the metastable resonant states of C20- were studied in detail within a rigid structure scheme. Using this simplified scenario, the fully anisotropic interaction potential between a low-energy electron and the C20 cluster was generated and the quantum scattering equations within a multichannel coupling scheme between all the relevant angular momenta were solved. A piecewise diabatic model was also created to treat the dynamics of the scattering resonance via a more tractable physical picture that locates the resonance positions and widths from the zero of a functional form of the inverse of the S-matrix in the complex energy plane.
