abstract
The reactions of the triply bonded complexes [Re2X 4(-dppm)2] (X = Cl or Br; dppm = Ph 2PCH2PPh2) with O2 proceed to give the products [Re2(-O)(-X)(O)X3(-dppm) 2] and [Re2(-O)(O)2X4(dppm) 2] in high yield in which net four- and six-electron redox reactions have occurred and the integrity of the ligand sets of the precursor complex is preserved.
