abstract
A big step forward through synchrotron irradiation: The novel phosphatozirconium compound 1 is the structure with the largest organic complexant that has been successfully analyzed by powder diffraction methods. Even the light atoms could be localized and refined. The layers of ZrO6 octahedra and tetrahedra of PO4 and PO3C are linked together by hydrogen bonds, and could therefore be suitable for ionexchange and intercalation reactions. (Formula Presented.)
