abstract
Co-ordination complexes of zirconium (IV) chloride with a number of amides have been prepared and their infra-red spectra examined. The amides are bonded to the zirconium atom through the carbonyl oxygen. Tertiary amides form diaddition complexes. With primary amides products containing more than 2 amide groups per zirconium were obtained. However, it is believed that the metal atom has a co-ordination number of six in these complexes, also. 1963.
