abstract
The preparation of two crystalline cerium(IV) phosphates that are isomorphous with the previous reported compound CePA is described. The preparations have a variable ammonium ion content and this accounts for the differences observed in their ion exchange behavior. Characterization indicates that these phases belong to a family whose idealized general formula is Ce(OH)1.5(NH4HPO4)x(H2PO4)1-x(PO4)0.50.5H2O. The selectivity of these compounds towards alkali metal cations was determined and the results indicate a small pore zeolitic type structure for these compounds. 1977.
