Lithium ion conductors in the system AB(IV)2(PO4)3 (B = Ti, Zr and Hf)

Lithium ion conductors based on LiB2(PO4)3 (B = Ti, Zr and Hf) type structures have been synthesized by suitable substitution at the B site. Solid solutions of the type LiZr2-xTix(PO4)3, Li1+xScxTi2-x(PO4)3 and Li1+xInxHf2-x(PO4)3 are found to exist for various values of x and their lithium conductivities are determined. The results are discussed in terms of the number of conductors, bottleneck size and stoichiometry. © 1986.
