  • In the case of lithium compound 1 the retro‐Diels‐Alder reaction does not have to be accelerated artificially—quite the opposite! 1 represents a rare case in that it reacts before it can be investigated. It has now been possible to trap 1 as the title compound 2 with solvated iron(II) chloride. 2 is also of interest with regard to its possible chemical reactions.
