IRSAP: AN IMPROVED APPROACH IN PROCESSING REMOTELY SENSED DATA. Conference Paper uri icon

abstract

  • Since 1973, the Indiana State University Remote Sensing Laboratory (ISURSL) has implemented three remote sensing software packages, two geographic information system (GIS) software packages and a statistics package on its IBM mainframe computer. These packages work well technically, but each one has its own processing environment; thus they did not work together interactively. A software assessing package named Interactive Remote Sensing Applications Package (IRSAP) was developed to rectify lack of interaction between software. The software, when used together, promotes synergism, flexibility, and efficiency for complex analyses in remote sensing/GIS applications. Testing indicates that improved management and analysis of spectral data are associated with implementation of the IRSAP system.
