abstract
Characterization of crystalline texture of two linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) blown films using x-ray pole figures was presented. The two LLDPE blown films had distinctly different crystalline textures. Film B had a typical Keller/Machin I type morphology. In film A, the shape and orientation of the lamellae agreed with the typical Keller/Machin II morphology. The study showed that the polymer chains within the lamellar of film A was tilt away from the lamellar normal, resulting in an apparent -texture as determined by infrared (IR) dichroism.
