abstract
The Schwinger variational method alongwith the Hartree-Fock approximations was used to perform the single and multichannel scattering calculations on the molecular oxygen anion. The channel coupling effect due to electron correlation was analyzed in the photodetachment from the molecular oxygen anion. The total cross sections calculated were in agreement with the existing experimental data and the Feshbach resonance was found at about 5 eV above the photodetachment threshold.
