abstract
It is of interest to know the degree of work hardening and amount of resistivity degradation introduced into stabilizer grade Al and Cu by wire drawing. Such information is useful in the design of a manufacturing scheme for Al stabilized superconductors and the development of aluminum alloys for cofabrication with NbTi. Results of measurements of room temperature yield strength and resistance ratio ( rho //2//7//3/ rho //4//. //2//K) for annealed and cold worked 99. 999 Al, 99. 99 Al, 99. 8 Al, Al-1. 0 Ni//3Sb, Al-5. 2 Ni, and OFHC Cu are presented. Up to 99% cold work was introduced into cylindrical samples by conventional wire drawing.
