abstract
Aluminum 6061 and WC-14%Co powders were consolidated by equal channel angular extrusion (ECAE). Both materials were processed though 90 tooling. The aluminum 6061 was processed up to four passes using routes A and C (0 and 180 rotation between passes, respectively) at 150C. The WC-14%Co was processed up to two passes via route A at 300C, 1100C and 1200C. For each case, above 98% theoretical density was obtained after one pass. Measurements of Vickers microhardness and percent porosity are reported for the WC+14%Co, and hardness, density, and tensile properties for the Al6061 alloy.
