abstract
Receptivity calculations are shown for physically-realizable, roughness-induced disturbances. These calculations give the continuous-spectrum amplitude distribution for sub-optimal disturbances for both DNS and experimental data. A technique for computing the amplitude distribution with only streamwise data is shown, and gives the vortex behavior of transiently growing disturbances. 2010 Springer Science+Business Media B.V.
