abstract
This article provides a brief history of Honduran politics and an analysis of the 2005 elections. Honduras installed a democratic regime in 1982, and elections have become the accepted way to select leaders. In 2005, however, new rules for nominating and electing members of congress have the possibility of changing executive-legislative relations, and relations between party leaders and backbenchers.
