Dr. Kim's research focuses on the rock-fluid interaction, where the application is to the geoenergy projects such as geologic carbon storage, hydrogen storage, and geothermal energy. His experimental expertise is dedicated to understanding the Thermo-Hydro-Mechanical-Chemical (THMC) coupling occurring in subsurface rocks and establishing a precise constitutive model to accurately describe their behavior.
